If it wasn't for Steph, who got me into metal, Amy who got me into alternative, North who got me into New Wave and Emily who got me into shoegaze, I'd likely still just be listening to Mom's 60s pop. I don't have innate musical taste - I just absorb it from the people around me.

Not such a bad method. ^_^ I certainly had my own tastes from early on, but it definitely helped that my brother was quite keen on buying records, so I picked up my fondness for Queen from him (but rejected the Sex Pistols), as well as various singles like Echo Beach, Turning Japanese, and DK 50/80. Have you tried Studio Killers, or for rather sillier electronic work, OhPonyBoy's Blob It?

BTW, did you know Boy Meets Girl just started its second series last night? (Stumbled upon it on a tracker I visit, looking for last night's ep of The Hotel Inspector)
