Never got a bill from the hospital, assumed insurance had taken care of the emergency room visit. Turns out the hospital used my home address as a mailing address. And since they just return those to sender, I've never received any bills.

Apparently insurance denied most of the whole claim and I owe $4,800. For a three hour emergency room visit.

So even if I wanted to draw tonight, I'm no longer in any mood to draw tonight, and, as usual, am wondering why I even went to the hospital, when I'm sure cremation and scattering of ashes is just way cheaper.

So, I'll keep up insurance for maintenance meds, cause without them, my diabetes goes bonkers. But no more money into the medical money pit. Healthcare should be a right, not a way to trap someone into paying debt.

You should probably try appealing the insurance company's decision. Numerous guests on the Doctor Oz Show have said to do that. As far as the bills are concerned, isn't there a web site where you can access your medical & billing info? My insurance company has one that, though buggy, allowed me to go the paperless billing route. (A necessity, since a large percentage of medical billing software truncates my address--lotta characters in there--cutting off my apartment number. Resulting in undeliverable mail or, worse delivery to a store on the ground floor. One without an apartment number.)
