Sep. 10th, 2016 10:34 pmI've never felt bad for a bad movie before. But this one. It tried. It really really tried. But it stumbled out of the gate, bumped its head on a rock and managed to finish the race by stumbling in a stupor to the finish line: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf86aR5DS7Y

Date: 2016-09-13 06:29 pm (UTC)The story SHOULD run maybe 12-15 minutes as a video. Anything much less risks losing something important, much more than that and it's no longer the same story. Too bad there's no theatrical market for 20-minute sci-fi movies. I could think of a number of feature-length movies (some excellent in their own right, some not, like this one) based on classic sci-fi short stories that would have made superb 10-40 minute shorts. Harrison Bergeron. Predestination. Timescape. Timerider. Blade Runner, even. No market for them though, so we get movies with extra characters, glitzy special effects and silly subplots just to pad out the time to "feature length." They'd've been better, from an artistic and/or storytelling POV, as shorts. IMHO, of course.
