I may buy a copy of S2 anyway, just to add a little more weight to the sympathetic argument.
I did try introducing Mum to it on my recent visit, but failed, frustratingly. First time, she began talking right over it, missing the key opening line. I restarted it, and by the time that line came, she'd wandered off into the kitchen. Argl.. ah well. I may give it another go when I'm down there for Crimbo..
(Of course, maybe I should actually watch it anyway =:)
