I love the idea and hardware. "Everything you loved about the Wii and Wii U, now in portable form!" Having your console games on the go is a plus, the "different" Joy Con configurations for a ton of Gameplay Options. I think it's gonna be a great console.
The games, though.... I was sold on LOZ: Breath of the Wild on Day One. But really the only other games that sold me were Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Wii U ports (and if you wanna be pedantic, BOTW is a Wii U port as well). Arms is intriguing...I may pick it up after a demo. It looks like Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix may be coming as well, a port from the XBox/PS3. I hope to see more Switch specific games that speak to me as time passes, cause 1,2,Switch is not that game.
All told, I think Switch is gonna really work out well for us. People around me are excited for it, even those who have been cool on Nintendo since the later Wii years. I plan to pick one up. I wonder if I can claim it on my taxes as a business expense.
I'll have to ponder it further, given it's fairly fresh news. Ultimately, I suppose I'm not the target market, and nor are most people - this is aimed at a particular audience, along the lines of console buyers, but for those who don't want to be anchored down by the kit.
It won't win over the bulk of iOS or Android gamers, who will remain content with the selection they have on the same device they carry around everywhere anyway. It may well tempt some, however - not on the same order as iOS devices sell, but probably perfectly healthily.
As for the device itself, it's pretty nice. ^_^ It's a good screen size - capacious, but still easily portable. Interesting to see games will again be sold on flash cards, rather than occupying space on the device itself. (It tickled me to see BGR point out how 32GB was so little, only to spend the very next paragraph noting just that, so even if the desktop consoles have far more space (and none of the portability), it doesn't even matter!)
Battery life looks decent, and I imagine there'll be plenty of other options should you need more, such as on an intercontinental flight, or just a long roadtrip.
Me, I'm just waiting for Animal Crossing's debut on iOS. ^_^ (If only they'd let you play as anything but just a human!)
