In 23 hours I'm going to be flying out to Baltimore. From there, we will be driving to Pennsylvania. Three days later, I'll be going back to Baltimore.; Then in a week...dear Lord a week...I will be seeing Emily for the first time face to face.

I think it was nightskywarlock who turned "um...friend" into a single word, and generalized the "um-" prefix into an all-purpose affix of approximation (as umdating, umfood, and other almost-but-not-quites).
