Abaddon - pronounced Abba-don? or Ab-Addun?

I say Abba-don. But since I also say all-bee-it and ah-leg-oree how have you been saying it?

I say Abba-don, but then I speak southern-English RP. The US dialects seem to stress the second syllable of words, while the UK standard is to stress the first.

If it's French, the first syllable is a short "a" and you can barely hear the "n" on the final syllable. But then that depends somewhat on what part of France one is from. If one is not French, or has a stopped up nose, then it will be different.

I've definitely been in the _Abandon without the first N and a more pronounced D_ camp.

Don't feel too bad about being unsure about your character's pronunciation. At least you know what the character's name _is_, unlike several for the novel that was supposed to be a game design introduction I'm working on...
