Aw, shit.

I got a call back on a job. It's only part time, but it IS working from home building up newsletters. It's $450 a month, which will not cover all my expenses without some serious belt tightening. But it's work

There's a problem, though.

It's for an Episcopal Church...not very trans friendly, in fact, very trans hostile, and HUGE on "curing" the issues. Oi.....

I think it might be best to skip this one, for simply sanity's sake. I just got out of a job that drove me crazy, but was accepting. Now I have to work with one that openly hates me? Sad really, cause I could do the work easily, and would be something I could do in ten minutes a week.

NEXT.

You did the right thing dear. Besides, we should really avoid helping ass cannons like that get their message out. Though, I'd tell them exactly why you won't take their job personally. ^_^* Something along the lines of "I some of my friends and family are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, etc. I don't feel like helping anyone who's openly hostile toward my friends and family." (Unless you wanted to REALLY freak them out, but I feel that what I would say sounds professional at least :)

Last I checked, the Episcopaleans were, as a whole, pretty darned progressive on LGBT issues. Bishop Spong, for instance, is a huge supporter of gay rights and gay marriage, and I believe Episcopal churches are allowed to do gay marriages, as a general rule. I'm sorry that you're finding things otherwise. :(

Everything I've read shows that they're big on curing us, instead of accepting us. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=episcopal+transsexual

Article after article of "I was cured" or "they outright discriminated" and "they messed with my head."

Hmm... I found a few good things on those links... not a lot, though, alas. ((hug))

I would say its easy money, but if you're worried about their reaction to you, its best to stay away.. It would be a good resume thing, and easy, from home work..

One of my best friends is a trans episcopal minister. Granted, she's not terribly welcome but she wasn't kicked out of her church or defrocked. For what it's worth.

Wow, I didn't know the episcopalians were like that. I know that they're relatively gay/bi friendly. But if you are finding otherwise, then do what you think is best (obviously).
