In the last few days, between healign sessons, I've attempted to clean my room. This can be a big affair since I have too much stuff and not enough room. It never really felt clean though. Most of my cleaning went from "disorganized piles" to "organized piles."

After the pencil thing I decided to just clean my room dammit. The pencil that had hurt my shin was hidden in one of those "piles." I threw all the stuff on my bed, vacuumed and started to work on the main pile on the bed.

That's when the PC pretty much flaked one me. It was something small but annoying where Windows Media Player (which I never ever even clicked on, to set it up) decided it was going to play all my music in Media Player in a browser window. I hate that. But what made it worse was I had bought an online CD, and instead of downloading all the tracks...it played them all in the playerand I couldn't save the files, they weren't in my temporary files (it streamed). The site I got the CD from? "One download, if you want to download again, you have to pay again." So I dont' have the cash to pay for it AGAIN (I only had the cash the first time, becaue I'd bought it a few weeks ago).

I coudln't find ANY instructions on how to stop Media Player from playing in the browser (like all things Media Player, touch it once, and it fucks your computer forever), so I copied my backups over to my backups partition, I wiped out XP (I stopped using Linux about three weeks ago - the longest I've gone using Linux and not gotten pissed at it, too) and reinstalled it.

And again.

And one more time.

And again.

And again.

Everytime it installed, something else failed on the system. Now I finally got it installed and working, and I move my backups BACK to my main partition...only to find those backups are, for some strange reason, Read Only. I could copy the files over, fine, but they were stuck as read only. And in true XP form, it copied over the read only attribute that simply won't go away. Oi.

So now, I'm copying my backups to my FAT32 drive, gonna run an ATTRIB -S -H -R on it to remove that read only flag, and I'm gonna just completely wipe this drive by writing zeroes to it, and reinstall AGAIN from scratch. (One thing I miss about MS-DOS was just about full control of everything on your system).

I never had these problems with 98....

Anyways, I've slept on the couch for two days because I can't touch the pile on the bed. It's silent in my room without the computer showing TV or playing music, and that freaks me out.

So anyways...if you're reading me as being in a really really really sour mood this last week...you bet I am. After everything going on, I'm kinda entitled.
