Reading about the roadside grave of Susan Haile, who died of cholera, reminded me of something similar in Texas.
On the road between Click (who my car is named after) and Honey Creek are two graves just sitting at the side of the road. No houses, no property near by. Just headstones and iron gates a few feet from the right of way. Tucked away so that you'd never see them unless you stumbled on them like I did.
I often wonder who those two people were. Did they die on the road and were buried where they fell? Maybe they were buried on what was once thier own property, now gone to the winds?
Did anyone remember them?
