The federal government has failed to protect it's citizens, one of it's primary functions. They're refusing outside help. They're buying expensive shoes. It has ignored the problem until those annoying refugees and state governors pestered them to do something. I've seen so many politicians pat themselves on the back for simply appearing on TV that I refuse to believe that they represent anyone but themselves anymore. I'm probably going to regret saying this, but Rick Perry is looking a lot more presidential (and RESPONSIBLE) than Shrub is right now. My faith in government in general is so shaken that I can't help but think he's only doing it for a future presidential run than real sympathy.

I've often said that I'm pretty sure that before Bush's term was out, that a state would possibly secede from the Union. Now I believe this NEEDS to happen. If only to give th Feds a wakeup call. Especiall if your populace is at odds with those the government seems to WANT to help..

There's a lot more I want to say, but my blood pressure is high enough as it is.

To be honest, I believe it's too late. 50% of the population wants to overthrow the regime, the other 50% worships at it's feet. Without a clear majority, a "popular" revolution will not last long.

We must realize that the Federal government will not protect people it considers undesireables, and flee for state governments that either DO care for it's "undesireables" or places where we are not considered as much.

Maybe I sound a bit reactionary, but I've seen government fail me personally, and now I'm seeing the federal ignorance that happened to me happen to others on a nightmarish scale and intensity. I did not suffer as those in New Orleans did, but I am seeing that same ignorance kill people.
