I just knocked some sense in a German friend who told me straight up "The US has enough money to fight two wars in the Middle East, and spread troops around the globe, they don't need any of our (financial) help."

I won that argument.

Unfortunately, it is our country that is saying much the same; we're turning away offers of assistance from oher countries. Arrogance, I tell ya.
