Dec. 1st, 2019 11:19 pmDeep Thoughts:
So, my laptop is on it's last legs. The AC Adapter is messed up throttling it down to unusable speed (I did kind of fixed this, but it's a dangerous kludge). Today, when I opened the screen, I noticed it had a spider-web crack. On top of that, I've never really liked the size of the laptop. Also: I bought it extra large to use as a drawing tablet before I realized the screen was not pressure sensitive, and just a touch screen, and therefore not a good fit for drawing.
Cyber Monday is tomorrow, and Dell is running a 35% off sale. I could get a low end ultra-portable Latitude for about $400 (after the discount).
Pro:
*I will need a laptop for any trip back to Texas or roadtrip. The phone is good for around the house and around the area, but for extended time away, the laptop is essential.
*Ultraportable is just that. It's something I can carry with me easily yet still be powerful enough to do what I want, which is not a whole lot honestly (I can remote desktop for anything more powerful around the house/area).
*35% off is a good deal, if just barely.
Cons:
*I have $400. But buying this will max out all my credit if financing isn't available. This is not good, but the sale is only until the 19th, I believe.
*I don't really need it right away. I won't need it until my Oregon Trail roadtrip, which should be about July.
Wait and hope there's as good a deal on laptops near July? Get it now and possibly max out credit cards?
What do YOU, the viewer at home think?
Update: Apparently it has been bought for me as a Christmas Present. :)
