Thinking about the Oregon Trail trip next year (Covid Willing) and a roadtrip our parents took us on in 1981.
That year we drove from San Antonio around Colorado and back. And one of the things we did was we spent the nights at KOA and Good Sam RV parks. And I'm wondering if that's something I want to do on the Oregon Trail trip.
I'll still want a private shower, but I can do that every OTHER day at a Super 8. But those off days, a KOA/Good Sam campground would allow me to just pull in set up the tent, and sleep in relative safety. More so than just pulling into the local National Forest/Grassland/BLM Land and hoping someone doesn't decide to visit me in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night.
I really need to rethink the Oregon Trail trip now that I'll have that pickup for it. Assuming Click doesn't break down before I get the truck.
