I finished the first draft of '77 in May of 2019. I had a readthrough with Ashley in Mid-October of 2019. I finished the second draft in October of 2020.
And that's why I never went professional, I think. In the last year, what amounts to small changes and some plug-in plots took me a year mainly because I was under stress from the pandemic, the race stuff, the new job, and the new job not really going well. And the first thing to shut down is the creative center of my brain.
I can literally sit there with a page open ready to write, and I simply draw a blank. My brain is all "Too much work, not enough mental bandwidth."
But the second draft is done. If a third draft is needed, it shouldn't be too too much at this point, mostly revisions and tweaks. I Can also try to get back to The Many Lives of Genevieve now that I've got a project I promised someone else done for now.
