dolariOne of the things I really wanted out of this pandemic was the return of the Automat. Lissa and had an awesome talk about this at the start of the pandemic as a way to keep restaurant cooks and customers away from each other.
For those who don't know what an automat is, it's an old-school food vending restaurant where food was cooked in a kitchen, placed in a cold/warm cubby hole, and you paid with coins to unlock the door, and get your food out.
Imagine now, you wouldn't even need coins, when you could use an app to pay, and even auto open the door for you. You don't have contact with the cooks, the cooks have no contact with the customers. And cleanup/bussing is done after you leave (or, better, leave the dishes on the way out).
You know, I'm still unemployed. I have a decent amount of savings. Could happen. Not like I'm doing anything tomorrow....
