I give Season 1 of Star Trek: The Next Generation a lot of grief, and Too Short A Season is really NOT a good episode...but one of the things I'm noticing on tonight's re-watch is that this is the first episode where Picard (and to a smaller extent Data) feel like the Picard we see in later seasons.
