Was it worth going to Canada? I don't know. I mean, it's always good to see friends, and I consider Vancouver my second home at this point. But the current rigamarole to get into the country? Having to take time off for the PCR Test and pray it comes in in time? It's kinda rough.

Maybe not the four-times-a-year for now. Maybe every six months. Until things get better. If they get better.

Definitely not fun to have every time the extra stress of what if the test doesn't go smoothly (indeterminate result, or comes too late, or missed some change in rules, or whatever).

Oh, yeah. After I crossed the border everything was great. It was all the waiting and fretting on that PCR test, as well as taking a day off work to get it, that really made it rough.

I hope they do get better. It's a currently-distant dream of mine that - should things go well enough in the US, and in my own life, over the next years and decades - I might revisit your side of the border in person. Mind you, there's parts of Canada that I have yet to visit for the first time, so those might get priority in any case. Places like the Territories or Newfoundland and Labrador...
