Starting to get my energy back, after these last two weeks, and I had a lot to think about the future and the past.

Getting a late start on contacting agents. I was going to start on May 9th, but May 7th I had a personal punch-in-the-face. I lost two weeks on that, but this Monday, Universe willing, I'll start again.

Writing the jagged-draft script in under 24 hours really brought home that I can still do a quick write when I'm inspired, and the revisions only took a few days. So I have SOMETHING to show when the agent says "I'm interested, show me what you got."

But I also started to think...what more do I have to show? And I remembered that I've written other scripts.

There's Lauren's '77 script which I wrote before the pandemic screetched everything to a halt. And it shows I can act as a script editor, since I took other people's scripts and story ideas and integrated them into the narrative.

There's the script I pitched to the BBC back in 2013 (which technically is something like a TENTH draft of something I wrote in 1994)

There is another script I did in 2000, just to write it and see if I still had the skills seven years after I abandonned the scriptwriting skills. It's seriously old (written in DOS Edit!) and probably not very good (I was young and rusty),

If I take those and the script I just wrote, that's four 30 minutes scripts. Two originals, one a collaboration, and one for a licensed property.

But I also have prose work. I've got a trans-centric autobiography I'm sitting on. It's 75% complete, and wouldn't take much to finish. The Genevieve book is currently about 10% done and needs a lot more work.

I'm hoping with some going-over and cleaning up, that's enough of a portfolio for a start. Cause (1) I really REALLY want to pivot out of technical support and (2) I really REALLY would like to have enough cred to write a script for a friends property that they're looking to pitch to streaming services (I know the property intimately, and am willing to just straight up do it sight unseen).

And if it all fails? It all goes on the web for free as the Dolari Library. Not quite a Win\Win situation, more like a Win\Less-Win situation, but in the end, they'll be available to be read. And that's what's most important. I WANT YOU TO READ.

And on top of that, I've got two comics I need to really sit down and do.

Big hill to climb, but I had to get out of the pit of the last two weeks before I could size up the mountain.
