dolariSomething that really bothers me as I grow older outside Texas. I love stuff like this. Little out of the way places, with pur Texana. I know a ton of them. I've visited a ton. Visited some far off Texas sights. Never been inside some of them, like the Fischer Bowling Club. There's so much to see and do out there.
After I transtitioned in the late 90s, while I rarely was greeted with open arms in the Texas Hill Country, I was usually at least more-than-tolerated. Often, when they'd see I'd taken an interest in the history or culture of the place, they'd welcome me.
I no longer feel safe in the state. Anywhere in the state. Austin included. Because intolerance from the state is infecting the people. And its only getting worse.
