dolariI got a very late start to exploring forest roads this year. It's been pretty cold all year until now (which is why there was snow on the ground in that earlier pic).
It's also the first trip I've had with all the equpiment I bought in 2020 for the "Holy crap, the world is blowing up, we need a survival bug out bag" now divided into "Bug Out Bag"/"Cross Country Roadtrip Roadside Assistance Equipment" and "Forest Road Survival Equpiment."
It was nice to have, even though today's forest roads were well traveled, well populated and well resourced. As a test of what I had, it did bring up some issues, though. The main one being the shrader valves on the tires are damaged to the point that my compressor can't latch on to them. I'll need to see about getting those fixed.
Secondly, water supplies. My forest road survival kit has about three days of MREs. If I keep my Bug-Out Bag in there, six days. But no water. I have life straws, which I thought would be enough, but I noticed a distinct lack of water up there. If I start going deeper into the woods, I should use the water bags I have to keep a few gallons on me.
Also, forgot to tell anyone where I was going. Big no no. Need to make sure I do that.
