Sad but not unexpected. :( There might be an hour every month where I miss being in Texas, and only because I still have friends down there. I just wish you folks could be somewhere less idiotic. :/
It's home for me. When I lived in Pennsylvania, I missed home terribly, which is why I came back. I figured it was enough to live in "The People's Republic of Austin," but now I'm realizing that the rest of the state nullifies any progress Austin makes.
Dang. Not that I expected any different. I can't say I miss Oklahoma (where I grew up, and every bit as liberal as Texas). Michigan used to be more of a do-as-you-like state, but lately the wingnuts have been closing things in up here. I live in a college town, but it's still uncomfortable. If I were younger I'd probably give Canada a serious eye. I have high tech skills that no one seems to want around here. Climates's nice, if you stay away from the plains. Maybe I should just digitize myself an live on the net?
I'm hoping that sometime before I shuffle off this mortal coil that they'll make humanish robot bodies that I can download my brain into. No more worries about chromosomes, sex organs or any of that crap.

Date: 2005-11-09 04:26 am (UTC)The Texas thing...I don't know. Maybe I could have tried to get more people out to vote. I only needed another, oh 300,000, to tip the balance.
