So you have Windows 98SE, and no device drivers! What do you do? You pull out the old ISA Modem, Windows detects the COM port, you force modem drivers on that COM port, and then download the drivers for your PCI modem at 9600 bps.



Once you get your PCI Modem working, you get the video drivers at 56k. Then the sound drivers...from taiwan...at 200 bytes a second....D'oh!!

So my parents now have a K6-300HZ 384MB RAM machine running a crappy half-assed version of Windows 98SE with no Sound Drivers. It's RUNNING. I'm going to bed.

Wow, a 300 Hz machine. That's old-school. Does it use tubes and punch cards, or have they upgraded to solid-state and a tape drive? ;-)
