Anyone got a good struan bread recipe? Cause the one I got...needed WAAAAY more water than it called for in the recipe. And I don't think it's gonna come out good.
Please forgive if this is not helpful... I long ago ran across advice, when baking yeast bread, to pause for five minutes after first stirring the liquids and flours together, to let the flour really hydrate. Might not fix the recipe you tried, but in general it has really improved my results.
The five minute rest was actually in the recipe. :) Even after that, I ended up with a very hard chunky dough. I fixed it by nearly adding triple the water it asked for though, but another instruction kinda hampered the bread.
