I was listening to Coast to Coast AM overnight on KLBJ, the local talk radio station, when a promo came on for The Morning Show. In it they were going on about the "Holiday Tree" and how it's really a "Christmas Tree" and what not. Then in the promo, a caller calls in complaining that Will Wynn won't call the Zilker Park Tree a "Christmas Tree" but made a day into "Transgender Day."

This caught my attention.

The promo stops there, gives the time of the show, then goes back to the caller, and everyone has a good laugh at the silly mayor celebrating those silly stupid transgenders, who gathered around on November 20th to hold a vigil for the 28 of us who were killed in 2005.

I think I'll be getting Coast to Coast AM from the internet from now on.

Care to voice your displeasure? KLBJ's program manager: mark@590klbj.com and the sales director: bgallagher@emmisaustin.com

Our way of gaining equality in the world isn't working at all. I say it's time for more extreme actions.

Send a strongly worded letter?

The issue is just the fact that people have a tendency to hate what they do not understand, or to mock what they do not understand. The truth is, normality is simply a farce induced by a society that wishes to employ a "status quo" in order to place certain people upon a higher pedestal than others. It is, in effect, a war fought by politicians, and I mean ALL politicians, to keep the status quo in order to have an issue. As long as there is a "problem", there is a campaign. The government is not your friend. :/

Exactly. Murder - no matter what the reason - is never a laughing matter. Now pardon me while I take my hickory Clue by Four down and knock some sense into the DJ...

yea but you can't have manslaughter without laughter.
plus it carries a lesser sentence, and if against DJs/radio personalities I think it's only like 10 hours community service in most places.

My reference was too obscure. I was mocking the response made by a Canadian Civil Serveant I witnessed once. He was arguing with someone in Ottawa and not getting anywhere so he slammed down the phone, extended his middle finger in the general direction of Ottawa and said "Fsck you! Strong letter to follow!"

Of course it's obvious that strongly worded letters will only work on people who don't have solidly frozen brains. Sadly there are far too few of those around.

We are a vulnerable minority, especially when we become visible. Our weaknesses are legion. What are our strengths?

It's sad really. I really enjoy Coast to Coast AM. No politics, all Bigfoot. :) At least I can get it from somewhere else.

And we have Air America now?! WOW! I've been waiting for that, I just neve ever saw an Austin listing!

sonofa-- I'm getting dangerously close to a point where I'd no longer hesitate if given the option to write off this species.

I'm not paranoid; certain people really are out to get us! Check out what I just posted (http://www.livejournal.com/users/lisalees/14195.html) about the CWA's latest madness.
