I'm pumped full of Benadryl and Motrin. My hand is back to where it was before the relapse: Kinda numbish on one finger only. My foot doesn't seem to be doing too badly, either, but I haven't gone to sleep yet.

I think the heel thing isn't so much a nerve problem, or a allergy problem. Again - it's the hardwood floors. They're...hard. Hard on the feet. Today when I had to stand for a long period of time, I stood on a small throw pillow. We'll see how good that goes tonight.

Also - well, I REALLY need to lose some weight. I think that would help tremendously.

The cabin fever from not drawing and not really wanting to just sit around has led to a computer that now has everything I've ever had, past present and future, installed. Every game and program that runs in XP is installed. Every game and program that doesn't, is running in a Win 98SE partition. Everything that didn't work there is installed on a Virtual Machine. Everything that didn't work there is installed on DosBox.

The secret to running games on a Win98SE partition in the PCI Era is to find a SoundBlaster card that emulates an ISA card. I bought one some time ago in a richer time for just that purpose, but never got around to finishing the plan off. Now games that haven't had sound in almost a decade have sound and are playing full frame.

It's funny...I bought Super SF2 Turbo for the PC in 1995. It SAID it was supposed to be playable on a 486/25 with 4MB RAM. It didn't. Once I upgraded to a Pentium I in 1997, it STILL didn't play right. 2004: I have a Pentium 4, 512 MB Ram. IT FINALLY RAN PERFECTLY. Yes, you can emulate it...but this was a matter of honor.

The one game that gave me the WORST problem was Megarace. It doesn't play in XP period. It played in Win98, but woudn't play movies. It straight up crashed in the Virtual Machine...but in DosBox, it came through like a champ.

Funnily enough, the oldest program I still have is Borland Sidekick from 1984. It works perfectly right out of the box in XP.

All work and no play make Jenn a dull girl. And at this rate, I'll induce carpal tunnel syndrome in my left hand in a few weeks. :)

I need to be awake in six hours - then fly straight to San Antonio. There's a doin' goin' on. :)
