In response to overwhelming demand, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release attractively priced individual two-disc releases of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Each release includes the 2004 digitally remastered version of the movie and, as bonus material, the theatrical edition of the film. That means you'll be able to enjoy Star Wars as it first appeared in 1977, Empire in 1980, and Jedi in 1983.

So...in order to buy the original untouched versions of the movie...I have to buy the new ones all over again?

Am I the only one not that interested at this point? I mean, I don't need the new DVDs AGAIN, and I have the originals on VHS. They're not widescreen, sure, and they're not DVD crystal clear...but frankly, I'm burned out on Star Wars. ISsue them by themselves, I might get them.

Interesting. I never bought the remastered DVDs out of protest, but I'll probably pick these up. The way I see it, I'll finally be getting the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD, with the weird remastered versions as supplementary material.
