I got my Social Security round up thingy in the mail. Usually it's shredded and trashed, but for once, I saw my earnings since Day One , I thought it was neat to see how I much I've earned over the years. 2002 wasn't a very good year was it? And that 2001 figure? I was laid off in May - Imagine if I'd worked all year....

That is so cool! I'd love to see one of those of my incomes too. Perhaps i should unearth all my tax returns, though i don't think i have any prior to 2001. Hmm.

I thought the government sends them out automatically a month or two before one's birthday. Steve and I get ours in the mail every year or so without requesting it. It's like a bank statement: you can compare the document against your pay stubs and tax returns to make sure Uncle Sam still has a grasp of mathematics.

No such joy here in Australia. I move around so much i rarely get any correspondence at all from the tax office anyways - just the bill :-(

Looks more encouraging than mine. It hints that your present state is temporary, even if the next period of doing well is also impermanant.
