I haven't flown much since the mid 90s I used to be a Southwest brat, flying around at least one a month, sometimes once a week. After 1998 the flights stopped. I hit 25 and wasn't covered by mom's free flights anymore, and, being poor in PA, I didn't have much place to go.
I started flying again in 2003, when Trinoc first invited me. 9/11 has changed a lot of stuff, and, personally, not for the better. I don't feel any safer with all the security precautions. I never felt unsafe to begin with and these new measures don't make me feel any safer. In fact, they make me more nervous of the SCREENERS than anything else.
Anyways, I'm bringing a 12 pack of Big Red and Dublin Dr. Pepper to Trinoc to pass around. I should get cookies or candies, too. But anyway, we shipped an antique glass milk jug from PA to TX and because of the pressure differences, it shattered. The Sodas are usually fine if I bring them with me, but I'm carrying so much soda, that I wanted to check it.
So I called Northwest (who I'm flying on out of San Antonio) and asked them about what I needed to do to keep the sodas from exploding. But, becuase of all the new security stuff, try saying to an airline employee the word "EXPLODING."
He got the idea, and told me what needed to be done to make sure they were safe. And he said the word for me first.
