Sucks that your stuff got stolen!! But those stormtroopers ought to get things cleared up in no time ... one hopes ...

In the meantime, I must admit to a wave of nostalgia for the good ole days when I was part of a security detail for local conventions ... I had the most luscious outfit* ... sigh.

*Actually, I still have it ... I'm just awaiting the day when I can get into it again >:P

The red-clad guy is dressed like one of the Emperor's personal guard. You can see them in Return of the Jedi.

To be fair, they're only on screen for about 30 seconds of the whole movie, and mostly in the background.

The red one in the photo was actually a lady in the costume... not that it matters :-)

Darth Vader was very silly :-)

As was the short bike-trooper on the far right. :)

Just to be sure we're coordinated for bringing ya home from the airport if you would...

Also, despite the usual hotel disclaimer crap, that is really maddening about your stuff. Did you report it anyway?

Ditto the question about reporting it. What was stolen? Art stuff is scary-pricey, sometimes.

Luckily the art stuff that was stolen is common as dirt (sketchpad, pencils, pens, erasers) and easily replaced with something new, for maybe $12 tops. What was IN the sketchbook can't be replaced for any price though. Something is trying to tell me I'm not meant to draw at conventions.

The tape recorder and tapes are a bit more complicated. The tape recorder isn't mine, it was borrowed (a long long time ago and its original owner has most likely forgotten, but still...) The tapes though - I was using the flip-side of a tape of phone calls between my support group leader and members of my family when I came out. I have it dumped to computer a couple of years ago, so that's not a worry, and most likely whoever stole the stuff doesn't care, but there is some really personal sensative information on there.

All told, it's the principle of the thing, you know?

I'm sure the storm troopers won't mind you borrowing their gear for a while.

So - how's the sales going?

I made $5 gross. So I'm a hundred or so in the hole. Boogers.
