Oh, the nostalgia! I loved using Pine, so intuitive.

My first EMail program ever was an early early version of PINE. I used that from 1992 to about 1996, when I got Eudora. But I didn't like Eudora, so when I found out there was a WINDOWS version of PINE, I installed it, and use it to this day. :)

I do the same thing, except I either...

A) Use mutt at a shell prompt (instead of Pine).

B) Use my phone's web browser to access the webmail I set up.

I'm not sure which one is geekier. :-)

I'd use the web browser, but it's all framed (have to click which frame I want), and really really really too squished to be readable (long URLs get truncated, options aren't placed very well for the screen). Pine works fine for me. :D

I remember pine as well, though my first email program was elm (pine was inspired by it, according to wikipedia, though pine easily surpasses it). Nowdays I use thunderbird (yes, I gave in to graphical clients - I've been corrupted by forced Outlook use at work ;o).
