2007 hasn't been very good to me at all. I've had more filler pages than actual pages this year do to the constant pounding the year has given and today ranks right up there with the gallbladder attack that just smashed me down for 48 hours.

While doing some exploring with my sweetie today, I stepped on my foot wrong, twisted it 90 degrees in a direction it shouldn't go, and heard three snaps as I went down. Believe it or not this happens at least twice a year for me, and usually ends up with just a sprained ankle. This time, though, it's much much much more serious, and I'll be going into the doctor tomorrow to see what the damage is.

I'm sorry folks, for not having comics as often as I should. I've actually had plans to start a third comic, soon, but seeing as how I can barely keep up with two regular comics, I think we wont be seeing a third anytime soon. I'm sorry everyone...I really want to get these comics done, but, dammit, Shit Keeps Happening.

Assuming an asteroid doesn't hit me on the head this week, there WILL be comics. If not, I may reboot the chapter, reprint what we've done up to now, and hopefully have new comics when we lap around. Thanks for reading the comics, everyone. I really really appreciate it. I just wish I could do by y'all a little better.

...So it's not just me who seems to be in a 2007 funk and can't update on time...

Just you?

No, it's not my "Tales of the Galli" has had 2 pages in 2 weeks. I have a new puppy in the household and if there's anything more distracting I'd like to know what! Image

Ow. Ow ow ow. As someone with a history of ambulatory complications or disasters, I more than hear your cry.

It happens a lot, you say? Something up with the ankle?

With all the breaking of that ankle, it's pretty much very sturdy jello.

Are you trying to get Erin to do guest strips for you now?

I guess you two could trade back and forth...

Don't sweat it. The important thing is that you make sure you are okay. Everything else is little stuff.

I know how nasty it is to do bad things to your ankle. My wife regularly twists/sprains and what-have-yous her ankle and it's never good. She NEVER lies there and says 'It's no good. You go on without me', though. Which I find just bizarre.

I can't criticize, at least you have good excuses, and the desire to continue...it seems that "Fluffy and Mervin" just kinda died...I haven't been in the mood to draw anything for such a long time now. It's kind of sad.

::hugs::

Better to say what you did than to not say anything at all.

I'm sorry about my self-centered response. I was feeling sorry for myself the day I posted it. I really enjoy your work, and I don't think you need to worry so much when things come up and you miss a deadline. You are writing and drawing two strips, with a third in the works, on top of living a sometimes stressful life. You have a dedication to your work that I just haven't been able to find in myself lately. And I hope your ankle gets better soon, too. I'm sorry if I seemed insensitive in my first reply.

Oh, nonononono! You misunderstood me!

I meant that it's best that you said what you did (your comic that is now on hiatus) better than say nothing at all (never doing the comic at all).

Oh...silly me! Well, I am unusual among creative people in that I find that I can't continue to work through depression. I have to be in the right mood to find anything funny. And I have been having a hard time motivating myself to do things outside of my daily routine lately.

Know the feeling, thought I managed some "reprints" over at Web Comics nation (http://www.webcomicsnation.com/lauraseabrook/). Have a few major distractions right now myself, and reprints/reformats ain't doing original artwork (sigh).

Honestly, I think you had much more crap happening to you last year, one way or another. At least at the moment, you have a sweetie around to make it better! Image

Being off your foot - does that mean you'll be stuck in front of a drawing table for a while?
