Just a quick update - it certainly seems to be just an incredibly bad sprain. I didn't go to the doctor's, just woke up with it feeling about 50% good, and after some walking around (well, a LOT of walking around), it's 75% good. Just hurts under the ankle and bit behind it, and only twinges when I roll my foot too much one way or another.

Good to hear it wasn't something more serious.

Jenn--

Be careful with that. I got what I thought was a badly sprained ankle once and it did turn out to be broken-- seems that the tendons in the ankle are numerous and tense enough that they hold you up even if the bone is broken. I walked around on it for a week before I decided to see the doctor, and he hit the roof when he found out. Not saying you should see a doctor (having read your medical insurance woes) but just saying that if it's still feeling the same after a week or so, you might want to reconsider the diagnosis.

This is Nyder from the DFC, by the way; I like to read your journal and your comics, but because I don't have an LJ account I haven't posted comments until now.

Mmmm...DFC. Y'all've been missed.

Thanks for the advice. I actually DO have a Doctor's appointment now on the 2nd of April. Gonna get the leg checked out, the surgery for gallstones (!) and maybe even a hormone or two.

:: hugs tight:: Exploring Texas just wouldn't be the same without your company and tour-guide knowledge.

I'm glad it's less bad than feared, but if getting it looked at is an option, it maybe worth exploring, especially given your history.

weekend I went away to Sydney. When I got back one of the cats was missing. It turned up a day later holding its front left paw to its chest. I suspect the new dog had chased it and it had injured itself in the process. It's over a week later now and the poor think is still hobbling around (though slightly) in the front rooms of the house, which are closed off to the puppy.

Seems to be the season for this sort of thing!

Get better soon.
