Monday March 12th
Mar. 23rd, 2007 06:35 pmMonday was the denoument to Sunday's Climax. Nothing really to report here...with Emily now staying in town for an extra three weeks, we reeducated her on how to drive a stick shift truck (the truck likes her a lot :) ) so she could get around town while I worked, and seeing the aftermath of the storm.
Down by the railroad overpass over the Blanco River, the road was still closed, and we could see why - the river was less than an inch UNDER the bridge there. At the lowest point, where water was still pooling slightly over the road, debris was at least ten feet ABOVE our heads. The storm turned a usually drive "river" into one that rivals the big rivers in the North East. 7 inches in just a few hours. Amazing.
