Back from the doctor:

1) Insurance covered the previous visit, new insurance should cover the rest and labs.

2) She wants me to have the gall bladder removed, not becuase of the gall stones I have (she'd rather put me on meds) but becuase it would also help me lose weight/

3) The sprain is a grade 2 sprain with a possible still-healing hairline fracture. Go get an aircast.

4) I start training myself on injectibles soon. Insurance will not cover it (they cover pills, but not oils).

And I lost 6 pounds!

It's harder to digest fatty foods which would pretty much go through me. It would help cut down on calories from fat.

Despite what physicians like to tell patients, you really do need your gallbladder. Certain things get a lot ickier and harder to control without one.

That said, stones are not good news. Meds were not an option at all in my situation. Too much time had elapsed where I thought it was indigestion before my gallbladder began to announce in no uncertian terms (high 8 on the 0-10 pain scale) that it was killing me.

I don't remember losing any weight. I didn't hit 240 until after surgery (I don't lose weight easily -- one of the few times I did was spending a week in Indianapolis where about the only thing I could eat was salad -- not the best downtown to be a vegetarian in, at least not in 2002).

I'm very glad to hear that your medical plan is worth at least its weight in lead. That's more than a lot of them are worth.

I really hate hate hate the stress here, but the benefits may be worth the INCREDIBLE PRESSURE. ::screams::

1) Insurance FTW!
2) gall bladder removed: My brother had that done because of gallstones. It's not just that you cannot digest fatty foods, it will be uncomfortable if you eat a lot of them. Damn good incentive to lay off them. He hasn't lost a significant amount of weight, but then again he never exercises.

3) The sprain: Hope it gets better.

4) injectibles soon. Insurance will not cover it: Www.stroheckersrx.com has really cheap prices, and they give you the needles, syringes, swaps, etc free with the vial. Love the place. Just have the doc fax your Rx to them.
Injectables are easy too.
