As I don't actually watch the new Doctor Who, (cause it just doesn't work for me like the old show did...) I'll just go ahead and ask, whats the big surprise that shouldn't be spoiled? I'll never find out from just watching the show after all...

A character they were building up to be a possible future incarnation of the Doctor ends up actually being The Master.

They really built up this guy real well to be the Doctor. Older man, odd taste in clothes, constantly called "The Professor" and even an alien companion. Then it takes a turn to convince you he's the Doctor - and lo and behold, he's The Master (after a regeneration).

Mind you, I don't like the new Campy Master, but I've seen a grand total of 30 seconds of him. Let's see what next week does.

The new guy really makes me miss Roger Delgado. Hell, he makes me miss Jonathan Pryce.

I was rather disappointed in this episode for reasons I won't get into here.

I was unfortunately spoiled about the big secret (in a mutterfickende unmarked spoiler post too! Goddamn the guy who posted it to the nastiest gravel quarry on Skaro). Maybe if I hadn't been I'd have liked it a bit more, though most of my problems weren't linked to knowing what was coming.
