CHICAGOLANDERS...or Chicagoans...or Chicagoites. I'm not sure what the name for the population is....CHICAGO PEOPLE!

A friend of mine'll be passing through Chicago via Amtrak and'll be having an extended layover in the Train Station there. He wants to know (1) Is that area relatively safe? And (2) Anything fun to do while he waits for his next train?

Tours through the Midway Mortal Kombat Department would prolly be welcome. ;)

Lessee....I think Chicago Amtrak uses the same station as the Greyhound. In any case, yeah its safe, just don't do anything really dumb or anything (like wave gold coins around or something, I dunno...).

I have been to downtown Chicago about a dozen times, two of those I wandered around alone with no problems, and one I sat at the layover for the station for 3 hours. The only reason I attracted attention was cause I was doing my life drawing homework in the station and people kept volunteering to sit for me XD

I prolly don't have the same knowledge as a native, but the same rules should apply here.

Oh, things that are fun...basically he is 10 blocks from downtown if this is the place I think it is. Sooo he could wander around the shops, depending how long the layover is (mine was 6 hours, so we spent most of that time downtown).
