One of the things that adds to the s workstress is the fact that I really don't get a day off. I work from Tuesday to Saturday, 40 hours a week (most days). Sunday is comic day, which (as much as I like it) is hard work for the entire day, and most of the night, too. Monday I run errands and when it's all over, it's time for work again.

It kinda stresses me out, knowing that I really don't have many days off and it's a straight work week (minus Monday, but come on, who goes grocery shopping or cleans house for fun?). The comics this week were designed around finally taking a Sunday Off for fun, while still pushing the story across.

That sunday, I went up to Austin to spend a day with Dean before he left for a vacation in PA. We had a Dim Sum breakfast (where we were larely ignored by the carts coming by), followed up by a Casey's Sno Cone chaser with Jill. After wards, there was a trip to the PO Box and grocery shopping with Dean.

I ended up going home to assemble the already-drawn (or traces) comics, but even THAT was enough of a break to reenergize me.

With the Moviegasm cancelled this Saturday, and me actually GETTING the day off for it, I have a three day weekend coming up. I'm thinking I'm actually going to finally go see my first movie of the year(!) at the Drafthouse (Transformers, more likely), and maybe gets some Indian Food. Or maybe just gas up the truck and go for a joyride into the soaked floodplain that is the Texas Hillcountry.

I like days off, it's nice to get a few here and there. Two in a row? I might just keep this job. ;)

Transformers is okay. Just be prepared for a really, really corny summer flick along the lines of ID4 and you should have a blast :) I mistakenly took all the glowing reviews to mean it was an awesome action movie in a class of its own (something like The Transporter) but really it's just another popcorn blockbuster.

[livejournal.com profile] demonasatana and I also get ignored by most of the dim sum cart pushers >:(

I mean, c'mon, okay we're not the typical Chinese chicks. We have pounds to our frame. We also can't speak the language worth shit. (well, I CAN struggle to come up with something)

But when it's NYC, in a tourist trap area, you'd think this sorta snobassery wouldn't happen here. Sadly, you and Dean would most probably get served more than sis and I.

eep, didn't mean to get all ranty there XD

For us, I think the problem was the huge family behind us. The carts came in, hit the family, and then instead of going straight, turned around and went back. Usually, they recognize me and Dean (we're Chinese Food Freaks) and get service right away.
