I stayed home from work today, because I became pretty violently ill this morning. In fact, this whole week has just been one kind of health issue after another, and now I'm worndering if they're all related.

It started last Sunday when I woke up with what I THOUGHT was a migraine. Maybe those of you who who KNOW you have migraines can tell me what I'm getting. The night I slept almost 14 hours, and I knew I was in trouble when I did. The moment I got up, I felt a huge "thumping" under my right ear, and as each thump went through, my head just felt like soeone was smashing the entire right side of my head. If I was still, it would go away, but the moment I moved, that thumping would start up again. It slowly ebbed over all of Sunday, but it hurt like hell all night long.

Monday I was much better, the headache was gone, and I was feeling okay...but I was still just incredibly sleepy when I'd wake up - even after another night of about 12 hours of sleep.

Tuesday-Thursday I was tired again every morning, fighting sleep everyafternoon. Also, my legs felt very achey, like I'd taken a long walk the day before, and my my legs, while not painful, were just achey.

Thrusday night, I lied down to do a little drawing, and the next thing I knew, three hours had passed, I'd literally passed out and slept on my drawing pad. I managed to get back to sleep about 5AM, and woke up at 11AM on Friday morning before my alarm went off. This time I woke up...and I had a knife stuck in my head above my left eye, radiating down to the back of my left ear. The pain was incredible, and I think THIS was a real migraine. After being violently sick and calling in for work, I fell back asleep at woke up at 5:30. I feel better, not, but the headache is still there over my eye - but on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the pain I had this morning, I'm down to 2 or 3.

Maybe Emily was right - I've had something all week and I'm still getting over it. One of my coworkers stayed home sick - maybe there's something going around?

Fucked if I know - I've been getting a couple of things of late myself - from strange crystal rainbows in my vision to my ability to read text properly just dropping off the planet (and I'm being careful how long I stay on the computer today).

I guess the big thing is... ...DONT PANIC - you ain't the only one, and it's treatable (though my treatment has been just sitting on a sofa with my eyes shut cuddling my dog).

That sounds like what I used to have happening - get your eyes checked carefully to rule out pressure on the optic nerve or high blood pressure. Once they have ruled that out, it may be optic migraines. I got rid of mine by getting rid of CRT's and replacing them with LCD's.

I tend towards LOW blood pressure, but I will have this checked.

Both times when I've experienced this seem to have been when I've had a bit of a cold - perhaps that's added to pressure? Don't know, but good suggestions, thanks!

It could be something going around - and rest may be the only remedy. I hope that it will pass soon and you will feel better.

I also hope that sooner or later, your employers will wake up and staff your place better.

Sounds like an ear-infection/stress tension induced migraine. The last one sounds like a bone fide migraine though, complete with the sickness and vomiting. I personally get light sensitive and motion sensitive, but not audio sensitive.
