Dolari World Tour #3?

My first real issue is to get from San Marcos to Seattle, straight shot. However, if I manage to get some decent money - I might go for another "World Tour."
World Tours aren't really so much world tours, but are long leisurely drives to whereever I want to go, see friends, and sightsee. The first was State College, PA to San Antonio, TX via Atlanta, GA, Chattanooga, TN, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX. The second was the same route, except I also made it into San Antonio via the Camino Real, driving all of TX21 and LA6.
Should I get enough money to make another world tour possible - instead of goign straight to Seattle, it's looking more like I would be following this route:
San Marcos, San Antonio (With a stop there to visit family), El Paso, Las Cruces, NM, Tucson, Phoenix (With a stop there to visit Liz Troub), Los Angeles, San Francisco (With a stop there to visit Amy, Jenn and Gwen), Portland, Tacoma and finally Seattle.
The pros are - catching up with friends, and having places to stop at that might not cost me anything. The cons are - driving through the American Southwest Desert with a truck that has 210,000 miles on it. Again, if I leave in March instead of July - definately doable.
If not, there won't be a "world tour" but it'll still be quite the drive:
San Marcos, San Antonio, San Angelo, Roswell, NM (With a stop at the Lil' A'Li'Inn?), Santa Fe, NM (with a possible side trip to Taos, NM), Salt Lake City, Boise, Kennewick, Yakima and Seattle. Pros - Right through the Rockies. Cons - driving a truck with 210,000 miles on it right through the Rockies. Also, a Mexican driving through White Power Idaho. Well - I survived a week in Alabama....

Date: 2007-10-04 06:20 pm (UTC)Hmmmm...Vegas. I love Vegas. Expensive, but fun, and maybe we can get my parents to go out there on our way up (they LOVE Vegas). And it's GOT to be easier to get aroudn than LA. Grand Canyon's up that way, too! OOOOH! This sounds like a plan!

Date: 2007-10-04 01:32 am (UTC)Nevertheless -- good luck. (I'd donate some money, but I'm saving up for a condo in Austin when I move -- soon.)

And I just got back from having paella in my old neighbourhood. Serious yummage! I adore New York... even though I am a Green Acres inhabitant now.
