I looked over the truck for damage from last nights collision. Sure enough, the passenger side's tire was flat. I keep a fullsized spare under the bed of the truck, so it's on now. After checking the bumper, the bumper has been pushed in a good deal. When I had my 1993 car accident, I slammed into a car at 40, and the bumper was pushed back just an inch or two. This, though, has been pushed in much much more. Three to four inches. There's a MASSIVE set of scratches going down the passenger's side door. Nothing else seems to be hurt badly, though.
I went back to find where I hit the deer and found the skid marks. I also found a great big beautiful (dead) buck sitting in the ditch, and a ditch marker bent over. Looked like I hit it, and he hit the marker. His eyes are wide open, and his neck is at an odd angle. At least I know now he prolly died quickly.
I'm glad I hit him on a county road. If I'd been going 70 down I-35, I doubt I would have gotten away as lucky as I did.
