in my anthropology class we're studying gender diversity.

people are rude and ignorant, even on the collegiate level. i can't imagine how uneducated thugs act :(

I think that's why a lot of people go out in the gay (or "GLBT") scene. You can get trapped there, yanno, like just live your whole life in the queer world and never learn to socialize outside of it, but if you bear that in mind and don't go overboard then it's definitely a good safe place to come back to when it seems like everything else is against you.
