Date: 2010-09-16 12:30 am (UTC)Well, it attacks so many basic assumptions about what defines us, as well as our assumptions about the ethical treatment of animals. Boulle opened a big can of worms when he wrote the book (which I recommend). I suppose that it reflects the growing disillusionment with the whole 'god made the universe for man' myth. Obviously, we need to re-think a lot of stuff.
