"Fiction is the truth behind the lie" --Stephen King

AVERY, TEXAS. Avery (New Marysville) is on Turkey Knob Road (formerly Upper Cibolo Road) fifteen miles northwest of Boerne in far western Kendall County. In 1847 the Vincent Williamson family placed a cross on a nearby hill as a landmark; the name New Marysville, named for Williamson's home villiage in Pennsylvania, was applied to the community that developed later. In 1888 a post office was granted under the name Averysville, after a relative of Williamson's. On February 10, 1901, the town's name was shortened to Avery. The population of Avery remained between 30 and 45 from 1890 until 1914, when it reached a high of 90. Several houses marked the community on county highway maps in the 1940s. Around 1950 the population decreased to 24, and only a post office and two businesses remained. In 1990 the population was 21. The population is expected to increase in the near future, with the selloff of Williamson's original landgrant into individual ranch lots. The original Williamson Family Home is maintained by Vincent Williamson's great-great-great-great-great-grandaughter Lisa Williamson.

Okay, back to being all serious and stuff.

TUESDAY
Woke up a little earlier than I'm used to. Roughly 11AM. Took my sweet time getting up, about an hour of lunging around in the library room.

How do you lounge around in the library room? Easy. Lie on the bed, and with a half roll across the matress several TRILLION books are at your disposal. I read a bit of "Chicks in Chainmail" which is a REALLY cool series of books...fantasy humor. Good stuff, and highly recommended! I got out of the house about 2PM.

Took my sweet time getting to Deener's place to get his key back to him. I literally took TWO HOURS to go twenty or so miles, mainly because I spent a LOT of time exlporing the area. I saw the Manor cemetary and Decker LAke before taking a really long scenic route to Deans. Once there, I had four hours to kill before Deener came home...so he invited me to dinner later!

I called up my cousin and we hung out at her place for a few hours. Her roomie is a trip. They went to dinner, and I went with them to a place in Austin called Veggie Heaven. That place is a DREAM for people who like cutsey Japanese things. The restaurant serves vegetarian japanese food, which rocks...and the menus have pictures of their cats. An actual family album of their cats, and a little sute story about how one cat wa recently adopted. Add in a few Hello Kitty thingies around the restaurant and I'm in Cute Japanese Stuff Heaven! Not wanting to ruin my appetite, I only got some spring rolls.

Once home, Deener and I went BACK downtown to Thai Noodles, Etc. House and got some take-out. We ate to the wonderfulness of Absolutely fabulous and had a long and involved talk the rest of the evening. Deener is very supportive of the recent "developments" in my life and stuff, and that means a lot ot me. By the time I got close to leaving Austin, it was MUCH too late and I was VERY VERY tired. I stayed overnight, while Dean left for New Girl's place.

WEDNESDAY
I'm the only person in the world, who can take an eighty mile trip and stretch it to FIVE AND ONE HALF HOURS.

Took off at noon....an took the VERY VERY VERY long way to Bee Caves, and then headed out towards Hamilton Pool.. I turned off on Bell Springs Road, only to find out that they CLOSED THE !(@$^ ROAD. Not because the bridge washed out, not because it's dangerous...they closed it because soemone is now using it as their own PRIVATE DRIVEWAY. That kinda Nerfness just makes me mad. Grrr....so I managed to find my way around to where I needed to go. I visited the Puryear cemetary, which is HUGE, but has anly a few headstones. The one I really like the most said:
He was a good horseman.
He was a good cowman.
He was a good man.
I thought that was really sweet. I tried to find two other cemetaries nearby, but one was locked and the other just wasn't there.

I continued onto Henly and from there took a little rural road through a creek. BEAUTIFUL! Lots of "Creek Canyons" and just cool stuff.

From there I went to Payton's Colony, to Blanco. Blanco has a really cool park onthe Blanco River. It's $3 to get in, but I'll definately store this away for future adventures in the area. FRom there, I got to Kendalia and Kreutsberg .

There was a ten or so mile detour here...Kreutzberg road went for about ten miles with a little cemetary in the middle of nowhere. So I followed it...and it went on and on and on. I found a place called "The Cave with No Name" which I'll have to check out. Never heard of it before. But the rest of the trip was stupid...the road just dead ended, no cemetary in site and I had anothe ten mile desolate drive back to the highway. Grrrrr....

Drove into Boerne and then visited the mythical site of the fictional Avery. Very cool area - perfect for a little town where an angel could grow up.

I lucked WAY out, though...driving back on the road I Was doing 60 in a 40 when I crossed paths with a Sherrif's Department Car. Thankfully, I waved at them, and they just waved back. I'd been having run ins with the cops all day and I decided it was timeto go home (I wasn't speeding all the way, or doing anything extremely dangerous, but I was wearing headphones while driving, which is illegal in Texas).

And I hardly pinged on any trees this time. I'm hoping that's a good thing.

Once i got home, though, I was immediately...wht's the word...assaulted by mom and my sister. They gave me several "jabs", but, thankfully, some of the stuff Marca taught me is sinking in and it just deflected harmlessly.

Still, this isn't a walk in the park, and hte sooner I get out of here, and move back to Austin, the better.

Did you know that for the longest time, it was near impossible to ge a good picture of me? I had lots of flaring lights around me and even disposable cameras would BREAK before they could be developed!

Just something I remembered....

I just watched a few episodes of Coyboy Bebop. Something about watching anime, especially "anthology" type anime makes me want to write and draw comics. Really inspires the inner muse to just have at it. I think I'll do some work on Closetspace tonight.

Maybe.

There's another story running auond my head in the last few months. I erally want to work on that, but I really shouldn't. Closetspace needs work, and I've only really done the first panel. Maybe it's time for a prose story?

I wrote a script bit for it a fwe months ago...just something that's been tossing around in my mind.

There's something about watching an animated movie or show just has me really wish I could be the writer for that show. I REALLY dug Final Fantasy Spirits Within, and if Polychronicon ever made it to the small screen, I'd want it all to be CGIed like that.

I want a Japanese animation company to do A Wish for Wings, or Closetspace. It would be nice now, wouldn't it? Have something produced like that. Hmmm...maybe something to try aiming for?

Today, I tried "centering" for the first time. An awful lot like meditating...and meditation is something I've never erally been able to do (I did it once...sorta).

One of my main quirks is that I need noise. If there isn't any noise, I get itchy, and rankled. Why is that you may ask? Well, just walk into my parents house for a minute.

It's 12:12 AM right now...there are FOUR TVs ON RIGHT NOW.

During hte day, add an additional TWO TVs (There are more TVs in this house than people) and music BLARING from downstairs, and you'll see that for the last 27 years of my life I've been inundated with NOISE. All the time.

So today, I tried centering...Mom and Dad were going out to an uncles house, my sister was gone for work. Just me. So I go downstairs and turn off the TV down there...I turn off my sis' TV (which is on 24/7), my mom's TV (always left on unless they're asleep), the loft TV (Which I was watching) and settled down to give it a try.

It didn't work...

Because I have a clock in my room I HATE. It's not just your standard clock...this one...each time it counts the seconds goes

CLICK - CLICK - CLICK

really annoyingly LOUD. I tossed it out of the room, and began my centering thingy.

I won't describe WHAT I did here, but let's just say it worked VERY well. VERY VERY well for about ten minutes...

...ten minutes into the meditation I was quite literally RIPPED from my nice scene by the sound of a door slam that shook the house (No one in this house can simply close a door, they all SLAM them HARD). and then the loud shouting of a sister calling my name over and over again jus tto tell me she came home.

I really didn't like the ripped felling at all. Not one bit...because I felt like someone had just blown a large explosive behind my left ear, and IW as shaking and terrified for a minute or two.

But the point is, it worked for ten minutes...longer if I hadn't been ripped away. I need to do this more often. Now just to find a way to GET everyone out of the house, GET everyone to turn off their TVs, GET mom to turn off her music and just BE QUIET for a half hour each day.

I may actually need to do this in my truck at night, just to get some quiet!

At least until I get out of the house. WHICH WILL BE IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.

Dammit.
