Many years ago, when I was living in rural Webberville, a particularly voilent thunderstorm blew through the area late at night.

About an hour after it cleared, I looked down the straight line of the street and saw the flickering lights of the storm as it moved farther and farther east. You could still see it as it was juuuuust above the treeline way down the road. At the time, I was meditating most every night, and took the time to enjoy the petrichor and meditated.

About fifteen minutes later, I opened my eyes and saw the lightning still going behind the trees. And then I saw, for a split second, a gigantic red "carrot" flash up above the treeline.

While on the subject of wierd sky stuff, I used to hear these "strange sounds from the sky" all the time at my parents house. I just chalked it up to living next to a concrete plant, and the flight path to the Kelly and Lackland Air Force Bases runways and a large power junction transformer thing. Honestly, I still chalk it up to one of those as I've never heard them anywhere else I've lived. (Well, I still hear the occasional transformer explosion...assuming that's what those are).

I love you Robotech, but...wow, that Southern Cross segment is so so slow. But I'll give you this - the Robotech version of Southern Cross is still better than the Japanese one which is even slower and more plodding.

You can tell it was trying. Great character designs, neat idea behind having the three main characters all women, interesting plot, good...um...decent...um...unique mecha designs. Kick ass opening credit...

But it's so so so so slothily slooooooooooooooooooooooow....
