So, Lissa noticed there was a Geodude running around out neighbor hood about 11:15 or. At 11:30, Crystal and I got worried and went out to find her. This turned into a hunt for Geodude for all three off us. Didn't find him...but we all got consolation Vuplixes. :)

And now we want to do night hunts every night. :)

Spent a lot of the evening not actually writing, but researching the area here Genevieve lived, while trying to sketch out a believable scene.

There's Vindia, which is a town a few hours walking distance (or an hour or so's cart ride) from Genevieve's dairy. This town is completely fictional. But when I decided to have a scene in a much bigger villiage...and found a historical town that fit perfectly...I kinda hesitated, because that town actually existed in history ("Argentoratum" still exists actually as Strasbourg).

Little worried that my story won't match history well enough to allow for a suspension of disbelief. I guess what I should do is just write the scene/story, and if the history doesn't mesh, just pretend it's a fictional city somewhere else.

vSadly, my position as Imperatrix of the People's Democratic Socialist Federated Republic of Texas has forced me to turn down President-Elect Clinton's Offer of the Vice Presidency.

Also, the Mexican food in DC is terrible.

Posted this in response to a news story running around on Facebook. Figured I'd post it here as well.

A few weeks ago a friend told me she wanted to buy a Mexican Day if the Dead dress, but felt it would insult me as cultural appropriation. And while I do believe in the damage of cultural appropriation phenomenon (St. Patrick's Day wasn't ask about drinking alcohol), I'm also not very strict about it.

Do you know the meaning behind the Mexican Day of the Dead? Do you know about Catrina and St. Death? Yes? You can wear the dress.

If you're answer is no...are you willing to learn about it? Understand why it means something? What it means to Mexican families! Yes? Wear the dress.

If you're answer is still no...well...I won't confront you about it. But you're probably being a jerk....
