Wanna know why I don't have faith in the staying power of my job? Stuff like this: "Log Rate this is the percentage of your incoming calls that there exists a log for. This should be well over 100%."

Guess I better hurry up and log my stuff twice.

I keep trying to write something witty to respond to that, but I'm failing miserably.

The same company that tells you this is making COMPUTERS!?!

There are quite a few other things I'mnot too happy with. The over 100% log rate is an ACTUAL metric. There's one person on our team honestly making 104%. I'm hoveing around 80% (which is wierd, since I'm logging ALL my calls).

Another policy is thatcalls lasting over 20 minutes are SERIOUSLY frowned on. And yet, the authorization process we have to go through (in which a 2nd Level technician basically goes over our stuff to make sure we actually troubleshot correctly...then promptly gets mad that I didn't reseat the hard drive to replace a broken latch on the display) takes twenty minutes to do.

My personal fave policy right now is the whole "We don't do escalations. Ever. And if you do one, I'm going to kick your ass."

Not to mention my L2 doesn't seem to like me very much.

We are currently operating at 110% efficiency. When our QA team digs its way out of the basement, we expect these numbers to drop dramatically. At this time, we cannot determine when the QA team will complete the tunnel.
