Hee. Nothing kills a good Ego Stroking (Adult Swim used my Card! AWFW and CS are on the Wikipedia!) than realizing you're running late on the comics. :) AWFW is all inked up and ready for coloring, but I only just finished the CS pencils a few minutes ago. It uses a lot of borrowed poses and recycled shots. I just plain procrastinated.

I've been rather quiet lately. Mainly because I'm spending time watching movies while Dean is here, instead of staying online. I realize my Internet time is going through the roof, and I should make time away, if only to get out of the chair and park my butt in the living room to watch TV while I draw.

I do not like shopping. ESPECIALLY when I don't have money. Today I needed to shop, and Deener came along. SHOPPING IS NOT BROWSING. I like to browse, yes. But when I have money TO BUY WHAT I'M BROWSING. When I don't have themoney, I know what I need and wish to run in and get it, not browse for things I can't afford. Must remember to let Deener come along When I Have Expendable Cash.

Got a wierd look today from a Chinese Couple while buy $10 worth of Chinese Store Delicious Indomie Ramen. $10 worth of Ramen is a Big Pile of Ramen. However, Big Pile will feed me for two weeks. The look is worth the value. :)

BTW - the howler monkey thing? That's my usuall "disconnected conversation" thing. Like when someone you know is knocked off AIM and pops back on, I'll usually say "...and then he says 'THAT'S NO HOWLER MONKEY! THAT'S MY WIFE!"" I'm surprised they used it.

I understand about the Ramen thing. Every so often the Albertsons next door has Ramen by the case. When they do, I buy a case of each of the flavors (usually beef, pork and "oriental". And sometimes chicken).

That'll last me a long time, baring emergencies. I find that bring the water to a boil, tossing in a cup of frozen veggies, then as soon as it hits a boils again tossing in the noodles and cooking them for the recommended time results in nicely crisped noodles rather than the mush you get if you throw them in the water cold.

Another trick with ramen. Cook it without the spice pack and use the noodles like spaghetti. Then later, use the leftover spice pack to spice a pot of rice.

Works well and gives better variety.

I've never had the chance to learn the difference. And given that I don't have a car, and I live *literally* next store to the Albertsons, I'm not likely to learn any time soon.

I picked up the trick with the Ramen fixings from some friends who did the "ramen as sphagetti" trick a *lot* and had just been tossing the packets into a big basket with leftover packets of ketchup, mustard and the like.

Believe me, I know a *lot* about eating cheap. Comes from (over the years) having spent proably ten or more years having to get by on food stamps...

When I was at Buffalo, I found this tiny Indian grocery store and I went there for groceries once a month or so as needed. The first time I went shopping, the owner was like, You do realize this is an Indian grocery, right? I said Yes... so, where do you keep the gulab jamun mix? They got used to me after a few visits, and eventually they offered me a 5% student discount. Heh!

There are at least three excellent asian grocery stores here in syracuse, one of which carries a vast supply of ramen. what kind/brand is the best? On a related note: I have a bunch of goodies for you :)

I used to get that look too, until they noticed I could read (some) of the japanese off the bag. Then they liked me. :)

Best Ramen in the Whole Wide World is Indomie Chicken Onion flavor. You cannot go wrong with it. Even if you tried. Indomie makes The Best Ramen Ever.
