I'd love to find those jurors and show them how real a trangender person is. Prolly by kicking them in the nuts.

Now now, we dont' want to kill them.

We want them to rot. Rot for a long time. And fester. And boil. And rot some more. And THEN die.

What's sad is, that's the LIBERAL state. I figured they would know better.

Actually, it's not.

*Northern* California, especially the Bay area *tends* to be that way. On the other hand, I've got friends who used to live in Orange County and described it as Conservative Christian Central.

Sounds like Red Rock, Texas. Austin is lovely liberal lefty wonderland (which is why I moved here). Yet only 20 miles away is Red Rock, where the Confederacy never ended.

Technically, the jury concept wasn't intended to prevent injustices -- it is the final body whose ability to commit injustice is very limited and also allows them to prevent injustice (ie acquitting someone who's following the letter of the law on the income tax whose only act of defiance was to ask to see where it said she was required to pay (well, that and not paying until she was given that information that evidently doesn't exist) -- an example of something that needs to happen a lot more often).

The downside, unfortunately, is that a jury of the murderer's peers can acquit him or her for murdering a(n) [insert name of randomly selected minority here]. Usually they commit injustice by doing the opposite -- rubberstamping whatever the prosecutor puts in front of them (ie you're a freak, so obviously you're the one who did it and not the DA's nephew who was never mentioned during the course of the trial).
