Did it come with all its accessories and supplies? When I got mine, it came with it's manual, but lacked software and a cable. I managed to get them to give me software on a second visit, but bought the cable (a Belkin replacement) separately.
Only issue I've had with the camera is the "shutter" (the metal aperture that covers the lens) fouling and/or low batteries giving me E18 errors. More an annoyance than anything else.
Mine came with everything, and it was all totally sealed, too. The only issue I have with this camera is it seems to "hold" the picture you've just taken too long. Probably because it was meant to SHOW the potential buyers the pictures they could take.
I've noted a similar issue with mine, as well. Try reformatting the CF card and see if that helps. I wonder if there's a setting to change for that, too.
Go into MENU, move down to the image of the LCD on the camera (marked REVIEW), and change the seconds down to whatever you want. I moved mine to 3 from TEN!
